– Sept 28th 2025

Doug DeVos and the American Magic Quantum Racing team claimed their seventh 52 SUPER SERIES season title in Sardinia, Italy, adding the 2025 championship to their previous victories in 2024, 2022, 2018, 2016, 2014, and 2013. The US-flagged team dominated the season and, for the third time, captured the prestigious ‘triple crown’—winning the season championship, the world title, and the Royal Cup.

This victory also marks the conclusion of American Magic Quantum Racing’s incredible 18-year journey in the TP52 circuit. Owner-driver Doug DeVos, one of the three founding owners who launched the 52 SUPER SERIES in 2012, has decided to step back from competition to spend more time with his family—especially his grandchildren. However, he will remain an active and passionate main shareholder in the series. His presence on the circuit will be greatly missed, but he leaves the class in excellent health, wrapping up a landmark 2025 season that featured 13 boats from 10 nations at the final event hosted by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

Looking ahead, at least two new teams are expected to join the fleet in 2026, including one with a brand-new TP52 currently under construction.

At Botin Partners, we are proud to have supported Quantum Racing throughout their journey, designing four TP52s over the years: BP205, BP234, BP270, and BP316.

Season Highlights:

  • BP313 Sled secured second place overall, finishing 19 points behind American Magic.
  • BP326 Paprec, helmed by Jean-Luc Petithuguenin’s French team, achieved their best-ever season finish in third, following an impressive second place at the World Championship, where they lost to American Magic by just one point.
  • BP315 Phoenix, owned by Hasso and Tina Plattner and guided by Tom Slingsby (tactician) and Will Ryan (strategist), were regatta runners-up in Sardinia.
  • BP350 Alegre, owned by Andy Soriano, ended the season on a strong note, finishing third in the final regatta.
  • Andrea Lacorte, owner-driver of BP312 Alkedo Vitamina, was named Top Owner-Driver of 2025 in his debut season.

Of the 50 scheduled races, 40 were completed. Both American Magic and BP354 Platoon Aviation scored seven race wins, followed by Sled and Alkedo with six each. Impressively, 12 out of the 13 teams managed at least one race victory, underlining the incredible competitiveness of the most evenly matched fleet in the history of the 52 SUPER SERIES.

Among the standout challengers were Gladiator, who triumphed in Saint-Tropez, and Sled, who clinched victory in Sardinia. Yet, it was American Magic Quantum Racing who stood tallest—signing off as the most successful team in the history of the 52 SUPER SERIES.
